According the Colorado Board of Chiropractic Examiner's website -The Colorado Board of Chiropractic Examiners voted unanimously to adopt an emergency rule to repeal the amendment to Rule 7(C) regarding injectables that the Board adopted on November 15, 2012. This emergency rule is effective January 24, 2013.
The Board is believed to have initiated the removal of the 7c rule rather than face a vote by the Colorado legislature after the Colorado Legislature’s Committee on Legal Services voted to repeal the rule 3 weeks ago. Sources in Colorado mentioned that a rewritten rule might surface in the near future redefining the areas targeted by the medical and chiropractic groups lobbying against the injectable measure.
In previous
meetings prior to the controversial Rule 7c of the Nutritional Remedial Measures the Colorado Board of Chiropractic
Examiners has stated that Chiropractors in Colorado may inject. So with the
repeal of 7c rather than a no vote in theory a Chiropractor could continue to
inject and would not be breaking the law. 7c not only interpreted administer to
include injecting nutrients for Chiropractors, but also mandated training and certification.
So for now
Colorado’s Chiropractors can administer nutrients, whether that includes
injecting is a matter of opinion. A rule allowing it will have to wait.
