Put on your ribbons, dig out the shirts, grab a few
bracelets, Chiropractic now has an awareness month. October has been labeled National
Spinal Health Awareness Month and/or Chiropractic Health Awareness Month.
Either way October is going to be full of press releases, promotions,
festivities and of course awareness for Chiropractic.
Chiropractic Awareness Activities that we found:
The Michigan
Association of Chiropractors (MAC) asked and they received an executive
declaration naming October “Spinal Healthcare Month” in Michigan from Governor
Rick Snyder.
Henderson North Carolina Mayor Mayor O’Geary and the city council approved proclamation 12-23 honoring National Chiropractic Health Month in October.
The Indiana State Chiropractic Association (ISCA) wants Hoosiers (a term of endearment to Indianans) to increase their Chiropractic Health awareness, so Governor Mitch Daniels proclaimed October 14-20 as Chiropractic Health Week.
The American Chiropractic Association with sponsorship from Foot Levelers and Standard Process created a theme for this year’s campaign. Discover Chiropractic: Find Your Game, which will focus on improving optimal health, wellness and functioning.
National University of Health Sciences ran with the ACA theme to cultivate more patients to their clinics with an athletic twist. Their press releases dated Oct 5th stated “So while your clinician at an NUHS Whole Health Center may have actually worked at the Olympics, or an Olympic Training Center, or even at the 2012 Paralympics in London, when they come back to our clinics, they utilize that same expertise and care to get you back into the full, rich and rewarding life you deserve.”
Internationally ‘Straighten Up Ireland’ runs this week from the 15th to 21st of October. This an on-going community service initiative of the Chiropractic Association of Ireland, aiming to create an enjoyable everyday program to improve your health and the way your body functions. It was constructed around World Spine Day October 16th, which was started by the Bone and Joint Decade, with a theme this year of “Straighten Up and Move”.
